How Seretide Accuhaler 50/500mcg Blister Works

• Fluticasone and salbutamol are the two medicines that make up Seretide Accuhaler 50/500mcg Blister.
• Fluticasone is an inhalation corticosteroid. It prevents the liberation of some chemical mediators in airways (such as prostaglandins, leukotrienes) that induce inflammation and edema.
• Salmeterol is a bronchodilator. It dilates the airway smooth muscles. As a whole, they relieve airway inflammation and loosen up the passage of breathing so that one can breathe normally.

Interactions with other medicines

• The concomitant administration of non-selective or selective beta blockers may mitigate the response to salmeterol
• Simultaneous treatment of steroids, diuretics and xanthine derivatives may cause acute severe asthma
• Fluticasone plasma concentrations are increased by highly effective CYP34A inhibitors, such as ritonavir.
• Concomitant use of ketoconazole and salmeterol can enhance the plasma level of salmeterol.
• Co-administration of erythromycin and salmeterol significantly leads to an increase in the exposure level of salmeterol.

 

Dosage of Seretide 50/500mcg Accuhaler 60’S

Overdose

In overdose, patients may experience dizziness along with increased blood pressure that cause tremors in them related to tachycardia and headache. If you experience these symptoms, call your doctor or go to the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you missed a dose take it as soon as possible. Alternatively, do not take a dose if your next scheduled one is getting closer. Do not double the dosage.
